21st Century Build A Bear Fun!

Dixon Educational Learning Academy’s 21st Century After-School Program Brings Build-A-Bear to Students

Dixon Educational Learning Academy’s 21st Century After-School Program continues to provide enriching experiences for students, with its latest event bringing smiles and creativity to young learners. In a special partnership with Build-A-Bear Workshop, students had the unique opportunity to create and personalize their very own stuffed animals, turning an ordinary day into a magical, hands-on adventure.

The event allowed each child to choose a bear, stuff it, and give it a personal touch with accessories and a heartfelt wish before sealing it up. For many students, this was their first time experiencing the joy of building a bear from scratch. The excitement in the room was undeniable as children eagerly picked out their plush companions, choosing from a variety of styles and outfits to make their bear uniquely their own.

Beyond the fun, this activity reinforced important life skills such as decision-making, self-expression, and emotional well-being. The program’s goal is to not only provide academic support but also to create memorable moments that enhance students’ social and emotional development.

“This was such a heartwarming experience for our students,” said a program coordinator. “Many of them wouldn’t have had the chance to visit Build-A-Bear on their own, so bringing the experience to them was truly special.”

Dixon Educational Learning Academy’s 21st Century After-School Program continues to introduce engaging activities that make learning exciting while nurturing creativity, teamwork, and joy. Events like these remind students that education extends beyond the classroom, shaping their growth in meaningful ways.
