On December 19th, a large group of parents and students joined English Language Arts staff at Clippert’s Literacy Night. ELA master teacher Ms.Przygodski welcomed parents to the meeting and went over the new curriculum that students have been working on this year and some ways parents could support students at home. Information was also given about how to access local libraries and other opportunities to improve student literacy.
From there, families could go visit a classroom where Ms.Escamilla helped parents gain access to the Parent Portal and students could show off what they are learning on iReady. In another classroom a selection of books and curriculum documents were set up so parents could see what their children would be reading this year. Teachers walked around sharing specific information about what each grade level was focusing on and answering any other questions parents may have had.
Thank you to all the wonderful parents who could come out to support their children!
