Drones Team Soars High

On Saturday, May 20th Clippert's Drones Team participated in their first championship competition! Their journey began back in November 2022 when students started meeting with educators from the Drone Skills Challenge Team to learn the science and finesse of operating a drone. They met every Monday and Friday to hone their skills, which all culminated in this competition. Thanks to Coaches Dominic & Dante for working with our students, and Coach Bingham for his instruction and leadership.

There were 3 main categories students could compete in: Drag Racing, Basic Challenge, and Intermediate Challenge. Drag Racing involved sending the drone flying fast and accurately down the track. The Basic Challenge was a circular course and participants were asked to complete as many laps as they could, while maintaining their position within the circuit. At the Intermediate level, students were given three minutes and asked to navigate the drone along an obstacle course, trying for the most laps with the fewest violations.

Our Clippert Aguilas showed up and showed out earning several awards:

1st Place "Basic"- Marely Lopez

2nd Place- Whole Team Score!

3rd Place "Intermediate"- Marcelo Galindo

4th Place Drag Racing- Adrian Galvan
