Student Book Recommendations
March is reading month! In Mrs.Miller's ELA class, students have been working on writing persuasive essays. To develop their own writing skills and encourage others to read great books, students have been working on giving book recommendations.
Check out this excellent recommendation from 7th grader Marcus Barber!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, written by J.K Rowling, is a book about a boy named Harry Potter, who attends a magical school. It is my best book recommendation because of the amazing details, interesting characters and great story.
The first reason Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a good book is because of its amazing details. In the book, they describe the castle as being large and magical. It has long hallways and beautiful rooms. It also has common rooms and dorms with detail. The attention to detail adds to the feeling you get while reading the book. It shows how much different the castle is to normal homes and how magic affects the area.
The second reason why Harry Potter is a good book is because of its interesting characters. The three main characters all have unique and distinctive characteristics. Harry is very talented and persistent, Hermione is smart and strict, and Ron is lazy but skillful. The characters' personalities interact in a way that makes the story a lot more interesting.
The third reason why Harry Potter is a good book is because of its great plot. In this book, Harry is selected to participate in the tri-wizard tournament, a tournament where he competes against other students. He tries hard to win, faces many obstacles, but eventually wins the tournament. What really makes the story so good is the plot twist and the characters' personalities.
Because of the unique personalities within the characters, the magical details, and the exciting story, I would recommend Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to anyone.
