The Male Mentor Program at Charles R. Drew Transition Center has been in existence for 15 years and Principal Avedisian has endorsed the program and the concept; it is under his leadership he has allowed this program to thrive, blossom and succeed. The male mentor program is making a meaningful impact, creating a space where male students can find guidance, support, and inspiration. Designed to foster a sense of belonging and build strong mentor-mentee relationships, the program focuses on reducing disruptive behaviors while encouraging positive life choices. By working with the PBIS team, behavior specialists, and other key staff members, the program provides students with tools to navigate challenges and grow into confident, responsible individuals. Mentors offer personalized support, helping students set goals, improve communication skills, and develop a stronger sense of accountability.

This initiative is not just about behavior—it is about transforming lives. Through consistent mentorship, students have access to role models who help them see their potential and realize that they can achieve greatness. The program also fosters a culture of collaboration and respect, promoting emotional well-being and reducing conflicts within the school community. The Male Mentor Program is a shining example of how targeted support and meaningful connections can empower students to rise above obstacles and create a brighter future for themselves and those around them.
