Back to School Expo is Saturday, August 6, 2022: We can’t wait to see you at this year’s Back to School Expo, which is a district wide, all-schools open house in partnership with ARISE Detroit! You are invited to sign up to beautify a school, while DPSCD families are encouraged to visit your community school to enroll, pick up valuable resources, learn about academic and extracurricular opportunities as well as enjoy fun activities. We’ll see you on August 6 at a school near you! 

Parent Academy Workshops This Week: Take part in a beginner’s digital literacy workshop on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Social engagement is important. Join us on Wednesday, 7-27-22, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. for Parent Academy Walking Club at East English Village Preparatory Academy (EEVP) 5020 Cadieux, Detroit, 48224. Summer on the Block This Week: Students and families join us for Summer on the Block festivities on Thursday, July 28, at: Detroit International Academy for Young Women 12 p.m.-2 p.m. or at Nolan Elementary-Middle School 1 p.m.-3 p.m. There will be free Detroit Tigers tickets, books as well as enrollment support, games, and other family-centered fun activities. Grab some food too and we’ll see you on the Block this week!

Stop by the DPSCD Resource Table at Eastern Market on Sunday Led by the Office of Government and Community Affairs (GCA), DPSCD is part of the bustling Eastern Market weekend scene. Snap a photo, give a shout out and gain valuable information from our Resource Table Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Speak with District representatives regarding student enrollment, legislative agenda, school updates and much more. Get the Vax Before School Starts on August 29, 2022: In conjunction with the Detroit Health Department (DHD), DPSCD families can get the COVID-19 vaccination and booster at DHD’s 100 Mack location. Schedule your appointment by calling (313) 230-0505. A parent or guardian must accompany children ages 5-17 to their appointment and sign a consent form.
