Math Teacher Leader, Ms. Lindsey organized an escape room activity in which students had to work through a series of academic challenges to earn pieces of a code. That code then helped explain the mystery given in the beginning. Students worked together in teams of four to correctly answer Math and English Language Arts questions for their grade level. The team who correctly completed their escape room first in each grade level earned a special gift (pictured on the left). All of the students who demonstrated the grit to finish the activity also earned a small prize!

Not only was student academic engagement off the charts across the building, but students also had to demonstrate perseverance, teamwork, and communication skills. Thank you, Ms. Lindsey, for integrating academics into PBIS at Blackwell!
