A Visit to The Robot Garage

Building Motorized Catapults

Most kids like playing with Legos, but a group of 3rd graders took it to another level during a field trip to The Robot Garage. Mrs. Singleton, our computer teacher, arranged for a hands-on experience that involved building, programming, and....wait for it...catapulting!

Of course, students were initially excited just to build with Legos. Their excitement grew as they watched how their coding steps made their Legos move. But the real excitement and WOW moments came when they finally launched their catapults! The excitement on their faces when they made a "hole in one" was priceless!

We hope opportunities such as this will light the spark for future engineers, programmers, inventors, and more!
