Congrats SkillsUSA 2024 State Champions!

Four Breithaupt Career and Technical Center students earned a medal at the SkillsUSA State Conference in Grand Rapids, MI April 14th, 2024.

Culinary Arts students Tiffany Baker, Mia Gholston, and Mary Jefferson earned a Gold medal in the American Spirit competition; Advisor Tanisha Bronaugh

Cosmetology student Yanahi Venegas earned a Silver medal in the Nail Care competition; Advisor Valerie McQueen

Our 3 gold medalists will represent Michigan and compete in the SkillsUSA National Conference in Atlanta Georgia, June 24th - June 29th.

A little about SkillsUSA:

SkillsUSA is a Career and Technical Student Organization comprised of a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events and competitions that support Career and Technical Education in the nation’s classrooms. Students participate in professional development, college and career readiness events and activities throughout the school year in preparation to compete against other young people throughout the state. The gold medal state champions will then compete Nationally.
