As you prepare to enjoy your Winter Break this week February 20, - February 24, 2023, students and families use this guide to access resources ranging from immunization and vaccination clinics to mental health resources and much more! Reminder: All 8th Grade Students are Invited to Level Up to High School March 18: Parents and families who have 8th grade students, on Saturday, March 18, 2023, the Level Up Expo is your place to explore DPSCD high school options for your student. The morning will begin with an information packed Town Hall outlining the high school journey. To register for the Town Hall, click here. You don’t want to miss this year’s Level Up to High School Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Renaissance High School on Saturday, March 18, 2023.  

Examination High Schools Round 2 Application Window Opens February 27, 2023: Students, apply to one of DPSCD’s six Examination High Schools. Round 2 applications will open on Monday, February 27, 2023. Click the link for more information.

March is National Reading Month: Parents and families, National Reading Month (March) is right around the corner. National Reading Month is an opportunity for your child to read more and get the many benefits associated with reading: strengthening mental muscles, improving comprehension and analytical abilities as well as increasing imagination and memory. Scholarship Opportunities: Families, the Detroit Promise is a last-dollar scholarship that ensures all eligible Detroit residents have a tuition free path to an Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or a Technical Certificate at participating academic institutions. There are 2-year and 4-year options. Students must attend a DPSCD high school for the entire four years to qualify. Hurry, the initial online application phase closes on March 31, 2023.
