MUMFORD HIGH SCHOOL GOES PINK

Breast cancer research is crucial as it plays a vital role in improving diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide. Advances in research have led to earlier detection methods, such as mammography, and personalized treatments that target specific cancer types, improving survival rates. Ongoing research into genetic factors, environmental risks, and new therapies continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, offering hope for future generations. By funding and supporting breast cancer research, we can reduce mortality rates, enhance quality of life for patients, and potentially find a cure.

Survivors of breast cancer embody resilience and hope, serving as an inspiration to others facing the same battle. Their journeys are testaments to the power of early detection, medical innovation, and sheer determination. Every survivor’s story is a celebration of life, strength, and the advancements in care that allowed them to overcome such a daunting diagnosis. Recognizing their courage not only honors their struggle but also highlights the importance of continued research to ensure that more people can share in this victory against breast cancer.

Students and staff at Mumford High School promote Breast Cancer Awareness and celebrate the survivors' by taking to the football field and walking in support. Staff members Ms. Weaver, MSW Social worker, Mrs. Utterback, Economics teacher and Mrs. Hennes, ELA teacher all battled breast cancer and won. The students and staff at Mumford are grateful for them and all they do. Please encourage the woman in your life to go get a mammogram annually.
