Digital Literacy Basics Free Parent Academy Session: Join the Office of Family and Community Engagement Thursday November 9, 2023, at 4 p.m.to learn about digital literacy. Family Resource and Distribution Center (FRDC): The FRDC receives a generous donation from Frito Lay's Feed the Children Program to support DPSCD students and their families. Thursday November 9, 2023, families can load available items including hygiene products, dry goods, water, school supplies, backpacks, children’s books, and at times coats are available. These resources can be requested by all district families and delivered through School Parent Outreach Coordinators and Attendance Agents. Prior to visiting the center, please submit this form. The Family Resource Distribution Center is located at 16164 Asbury Park Detroit, MI 48235 (Come to door 6 via the parking lot on Murray Hill (formerly Adult Education West).
ESE Parent Advisory Committee (PAC): DPSCD's Parent Advisory Committee's (PAC) mission is to empower parents, guardians, and grandparents of students with an active individualized education program (IEP) with knowledge as it relates to their participation in the special education process, delivery of services, and funding for schools. In addition, members will work with key stakeholders to make decisions and recommendations regarding compliance, parent and community involvement, and ongoing issues related to special education. Join us for a discussion Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. as we talk about the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Teacher Waiver.
