Mr. John Doe
John Doe joined Great Elementary School in 2014, following six years of service within the Houston Independent School District. His career began at First Elementary, where he taught 5th grade for two years before being named an assistant principal. Before joining HISD, Mr. Doe taught third grade in Katy ISD, as well as second grade in Fort Bend ISD.
Mr. Doe grew up in Houston and attended school in the Cy-Fair Independent School District, graduating from Cypress Creek High School. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Houston in Elementary Education with a specialization in reading. This specialty area informs his leadership and teaching approach, as he views literacy as the foundation of academic progress. Mr. Doe earned his master’s degree in Educational Administration from Rice University in 2012.
Mr. Doe views a collaborative school environment as the key to creating successful teachers and students. He believes partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience at Great Elementary.
During his free time, Mr. Doe enjoys reading, walking his dog, and spending time with family
