Mrs. Anisa Proud

This is Mrs. Proud’s 15th year working in education in the city of Detroit. She is originally from Wintersville, Ohio and is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Political Science/ Pre-Law. She moved to Detroit in 2010 to join Teach for America and received her teaching certification from the University of Michigan. She has been a classroom teacher, Instructional Coach, Dean of Instruction, and an Assistant Principal. In May of 2019, she graduated from Michigan State University with a Master’s degree in K-12 Administration. After spending five years as an Assistant Principal in a Detroit turnaround Charter school, in September of 2021, she transitioned to a new role as a Middle School Assistant Principal with Detroit Public Schools Community District at Amelia Earhart Elementary Middle School. After three years as Earhart’s AP, she was named as Earhart’s new Principal in June 2024! She is so excited to make sure that Amelia Earhart Elementary- Middle School is the # BestinSouthwest! She is committed to ensuring that all students receive an excellent education filled with high expectations and strong relationships.
