On the bustling eastside, a group of young minds is gearing up to showcase their talents and creativity in the world of robotics. Meet the Marcus Garvey Academy's Robotics Dream Team, a diverse group of third through fifth graders who are set to make their mark in their first-ever competition on Saturday, May 4th. Comprising ten eager participants—Ares Miller, Drea Williams, Elijah Merchant, Jiovanni Whitsell, Ganesa Thomas, Kyla King, Holland Miller, Autumn Bolden, Jeremiah Smith, and Heru Walker—the team is ready to take on the challenge with enthusiasm and determination.

Under the guidance and mentorship of their dedicated coach, Mama Taylor, the Marcus Garvey Academy's Robotics Dream Team has been tirelessly preparing for the upcoming competition, which features three distinct parts: coding, interview, and innovation. Each segment presents its own set of challenges, but these young innovators are more than up to the task.

In the coding segment, the team will put their programming skills to the test as they navigate their robot through a series of obstacles and challenges. From mastering algorithms to troubleshooting technical glitches, they have spent countless hours refining their coding abilities to ensure their robot performs flawlessly on competition day.

The interview portion offers the team an opportunity to showcase their communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and knowledge of robotics. With poise and confidence, they will field questions from judges, articulating their ideas, strategies, and experiences with clarity and conviction.

However, perhaps the most exciting aspect of the competition is the innovation segment. Here, the Marcus Garvey Academy's Robotics Dream Team has the chance to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions to real-world problems using robotics and technology. Whether it's designing a robot to assist with household chores or developing a system to address environmental issues, the team is eager to demonstrate their creativity and ingenuity.

For these young innovators, the competition represents more than just a chance to showcase their skills—it's an opportunity to inspire others and make a positive impact on their community.
