First-Ever Women's Day Celebration at The Ville
EEVPA recently held its first-ever Women's Day Celebration at The Ville, an inspiring event that honored the achievements and strength of women. Students, staff, and special guests gathered to celebrate womanhood through performances, speeches, and uplifting messages.
The event was hosted by Taharah Godwin, a senior and the Class of 2025 President, who served as the Mistress of Ceremony. Her confidence and leadership set a powerful tone for the event.
The EEVPA Cheerleaders and EEVPA Dance Workshop delivered outstanding performances, wowing the audience with their energy and skill. Their routines embodied the themes of empowerment and resilience, making the celebration even more special.
After the performances, Alisia Wright, a senior and dedicated cheerleader, introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Danielle Cato. Dr. Cato, a former DPSCD counselor turned entrepreneur and author, shared her inspiring journey of overcoming challenges and pursuing her passion for helping women. She is the owner of HealHer Virtual Spa, a mental health-focused virtual spa for women, and the founder of the HealHer Collective, a nonprofit organization that supports women's needs.
Dr. Cato has also written two books, "Finding My Truth in Pretty" and the "HealHER Journal", both designed to help women on their paths to self-discovery and healing. In addition to her work as an author and business owner, she is a chartering member and founder of W.I.N (Women InvestHER Network) and serves on the executive committee of the Detroit Black Chamber of Commerce, showing her dedication to empowering women in business and leadership.
The Women's Day Celebration at The Ville was an unforgettable experience, inspiring students and staff to uplift and support women in all areas of life. This event set a strong foundation for future celebrations that will continue to recognize and honor the incredible women in our community.
