Robotics and Lego League

On Saturday, November 11, 2024 the Dossin Robotics and Lego League teams participated State qualifying championships. The teams practiced hard since the beginning of the year.  Mr. McAdoo has been the coach of the Robotics team for several years and this marked the first time Dossin had a team competing in the Lego League. Captained by Mrs. Watkins and Mr. Wiley, the Lego League team triumphed in all four of their competitions against other schools. The robotics team also did well, ranking 41st out of 100 schools.  The competitions consisted of an interview with judges and the robot competition against teams from other DPSCD schools. During the interview, the students explained their robot programming and the challenges they overcame as a team. Although the competitions were fierce, and they did not advance to the State Championship, the teams were excited about the future and eager to return next year. The coaches were incredibly proud of how the students represented their school with excellent behavior, knowledge, and teamwork, especially in the face of adversity.  We can’t wait to compete again next year!
