CMA's Parent Newsletter

Hello Pharaoh Families!  As the proud new principal of CMA High School, I am pleased to say that our school year is off to a great start!  I must say it is hard to believe that we are in our first official week of Fall and that it is the fifth week of the 2022-2023 school year already.  Here is news you can use along with important school updates.

Morning Entry

CMA’s doors open daily by 7:30 a.m.  Parents, please encourage your son/daughter to prepare the night before and to manage their time in the morning to ensure an on-time start to their school day.  As a reminder, teaching and learning begins at 8:00 a.m. and students arriving after this time will be marked “tardy”.  CMA’s goal for daily attendance is 95%.

Student I.D. cards

All students are required to have and wear their 2022-2023 student photo I.D.  Any students that have not taken their picture this year need to see Dean Moore immediately to have their photo taken.

Schedule Changes

The window to request a schedule change is now closed.  Please know that schedule change requests will be honored on a graduation-requirement needs’ basis.

Students who are missing a core class on their schedule, such as Math, English, Science, or Social Studies need to see me a.s.a.p. in the Main Office.

Any senior that was not scheduled for a class or failed a class that is a graduation requirement has been/will be programmed for that class during the school day or via After-school Credit Recovery.

7th Hour Instructional Recovery Period, 2:35 – 3:00 p.m. daily

Families, please know that all teachers are available for student support during the 7th hour from 2:35-3:00 p.m.   During this time, students can receive assistance with homework, missed assignments, and daily lessons directly from their teachers.  Please email your child’s teacher if you have further questions.
