Second Semester Transfers

Students that do not complete the consent to test form will be transferred to the Online School after the February Winter Count window closes. This is not guaranteed. This will be at the district’s discretion. CMA has only 5 students that did not consent to the test.

Semester One Report Cards

Students will receive Report Cards on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, during 6th-hour class. 

Second Semester Schedule Changes

Students' schedules are available on PowerSchool now.  There will not be any schedule changes until after the Count Window.

Extended Day School Classes

All students are expected to complete their Extended Day School course work by end of Quarter 3 if they enrolled in Credit Recovery before January.  At this point, no extensions are granted.  Students should reach 100% completion with 80% mastery.  Reach out to Ms. Slaughter (Counselor) or Mrs. Hudson-Johnson for more information.

Senior Failures

It is our hope that all our seniors pass their classes and continue to be on track for June graduation.  Any senior that is off-track will be required to attend a Graduation Intervention meeting on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.  The meeting will be held virtually.

Academic Support Team

All students that enroll at CMA for the 2021-2022 school year through the examination process must maintain a 2.5 GPA.  Any students that are trending towards a GPA lower than 2.5 will be given tiered support and placed on an academic support team.  Students and parents will be notified by Friday, February 11, 2022.

Second Semester Credit Recovery

All students in Grades 9-12 will be eligible to enroll in Virtual Credit Recovery.  Students will receive schedules beginning Thursday, February 10, 2022.

Valentine’s Day Dance/Relaxed Dress

On Monday, February 14, 2022, CMA will host a Valentine’s Day Dance/Relaxed Dress.  Students should follow the same guidelines with respect to relaxed dress.  The cost is $3.00.

Count Day Schoolwide Incentives

Students that are present on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, Count Day will receive a Relaxed Dress ticket for Friday, February 11, 2022.

Child Tax Credit support for families

As you may know, 10,000 Detroit families that are eligible for the expanded Child Tax Credit - which provides up to $3,600 per child, per year - are not receiving it. We are partnering with organizations around the city to ensure our families have access to this important resource. In addition to ongoing efforts by FACE to reach out to parents, we have also partnered with several community partners to offer training to our school staff to learn more about the Child Tax Credit.
