In the School Spotlight: Paul Robeson Malcolm X Academy: Stressing a child centered, culturally influenced environment, Paul Robeson Malcolm X supplements the District’s curriculum with African-centered educational material that informs students of the contributions of African American people to all phases of our society. Parent Academy Workshops This Week: Join us online for the Exploring College Majors session Tuesday, August 30, 2022, 10 a.m.-11 a.m. where parents will learn tools to use in helping your student choose a college major and explore their career interests. Family Health and Wellness! As a reminder, any new students to the district as well as students entering kindergarten or 7th grade are required to be current on their childhood vaccines (e.g., diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, meningococcal conjugate, and chicken pox). Parents who wish to seek a waiver for the required immunizations must make an appointment with the Detroit Health Department at (313) 876-4667 prior to enrollment.
