Black History Program at Central

The Black History Program at Central High School took place on February 27, 2025, showcasing a powerful celebration of Black culture, history, and achievements. This year’s program featured a captivating blend of historical reflections, music, and dance.

The event included a dynamic rap performance and compelling biographies of influential figures such as Shaka Zulu, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Florence Griffith-Joyner, Jerry Lawson, Booker T. Washington, Shirley Chisholm, and Berry Gordy. The CHS Dance Team delivered an electrifying dance performance, while two seniors honored African heritage with a stunning African dance.

A special highlight of the program was the celebration of the Divine Nine, where Central staff members from Alpha Kappa Alpha and Delta Sigma Theta sororities  put on an energetic mini-step show. Another Central student moved the audience with a beautiful vocal performance, and the tribute to Michael Jackson was nothing short of outstanding.

This program was a true lesson in Black history through music and movement. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this incredible production! Looking forward to an even greater celebration next year!
