Bates Academy is home to a student-led bank, operated in partnership with Michigan First! Every other Thursday, professionals from Michigan First visit to guide and support students as they manage the bank.

Under the mentorship of Mrs. Vorus and Ms. Stewart, students take on key roles, including bank manager, tellers, and security, gaining valuable real-world experience in financial literacy and responsibility. Students can open accounts and make deposits, building smart money habits while actively participating in the banking process.
