School Spotlight of the Week - Academy of the Americas: The Academy of Americas is one of a few dual language immersion schools in the region. Whether your child is a native Spanish speaker or not, the school's bilingual program will help them build their Spanish skills while also preparing them for the future. ICYMI Congratulations Southeastern: The Jungaleers brought a District championship back to their school for the first time since 2018 as they defeated the Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard Irish 26-22 after returning a blocked field goal attempt for the touchdown at the last second!
Junior quarterback Julian Liddell led the way with 116 rushing yards and 160 passing yards to go along with the last second return touchdown for the win. Freshman Nate Moore was also a huge contributor in the winning effort with 13 tackles on defense and a 70-yard touchdown reception on offense.
The Jungaleers advanced to the regional championships but were defeated by the Flat Rock Rams. Congratulations to the Southeastern Jungaleers for representing the DPSCD well!

Middle of the Year District Assessment Window Opens This Week: DPSCD Families, the middle of year assessment window opens this week on Tuesday December 05, 2023. Based on grade level, your student will take benchmark assessments in Math, Reading, Science, and/or Social Studies. These assessments help teachers better understand your student’s academic progress. For more information, please contact your school.
Save the Date for the Eureka Math Session for Families: DPSCD Families, join this interactive virtual series that will provide understanding for parents and guardians on how to support their children with grade level mathematics. The next session will take place on Monday December 11, 2023. We encourage you to attend ALL sessions. Click here to find a session for you and your family.

- Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 6th grade/5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- 1st grade, 4th grade, and 7th grade/6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
- 2nd grade, 5th grade, and 8th grade/7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
