Wayne Singers Shine at All City Vocal Music Concert

On Friday, November 15, the Wayne Singers took the stage at the highly anticipated All City Vocal Music Concert, delivering a stirring performance of Oh Mary (Ring Them Bells) arranged by the esteemed Dr. Rene Boyer. The event, held at Detroit School of Arts, showcased vocal ensembles from schools across the city.

Under the direction of Mr. Farley, the students brought the traditional spiritual to life, blending their voices with heartfelt expression and well-rehearsed confidence. Audience members were captivated by their spirited performance, which combined rich vocal textures with rhythmic drive, evoking a standing ovation from the packed auditorium.

"The students have worked incredibly hard to prepare for this moment," Mr. Farley said after the performance. "Dr. Boyer’s arrangement challenges young singers to explore dynamics and rhythmic complexity, and the Wayne Singers rose to the occasion beautifully. I couldn’t be prouder of them."

The All-City Vocal Music Concert is an annual celebration of choral excellence, providing students an opportunity to perform for a wider audience and connect with peers from other schools. This year’s festival featured a diverse selection of repertoire, highlighting the depth and breadth of musical talent across the district.
