Wayne Percussion Ensemble Shines at All-City Instrumental Performance

The talented young musicians of the Wayne Percussion Ensemble proudly represented Wayne Elementary School at the All-City Instrumental Concert on January 31, 2025. Held at Detroit School of Arts, this prestigious event showcased some of the most skilled student musicians from across the district.

Participation in the All-City Instrumental Concert is no small feat—students must first audition to earn their place in the performance. Wayne Percussion Ensemble members were selected this year, demonstrating their hard work, dedication, and musical excellence.

Under the direction of their music teacher, Mr. Demetrius Farley, the ensemble performed "The Great Rondo," an exciting percussion piece arranged by Mr. Farley himself. Their performance captivated the audience, highlighting the students' rhythmic precision and dynamic energy.

“We are so proud of our students for their commitment and effort,” said Mr. Farley. “They put in weeks of rehearsal to prepare for this event, and their performance truly reflected their dedication.”

The Wayne Elementary community celebrates these young musicians' outstanding achievements and looks forward to their continued success in future performances.

Congratulations to the Wayne Percussion Ensemble!
