Phoenix girls win PSL title

Detroit Renaissance earns second straight league championship

Detroit Renaissance repeated as Detroit Public School League girls cross country champion on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Belle Isle in Detroit.

Renaissance won the title with a score of 22. Detroit Cass Technical was second at 36. Detroit Martin Luther King Jr. was third at 78. Detroit Cody placed fifth at 97. 

Cass Tech freshman Anyla Robinson was medalist in a time of 19.41.9. 

Renaissance took the next three spots and placed five runners in the top seven.

Renaissance junior Lauren Bickerdt was second (20.09.3). Senior Christian Sanders was third (21.41.4), and sophomore Kacey Daniels placed fourth (22.13.3).

Renaissance senior Zion Lewis was sixth (22.41.9) and freshman Jordyn Burr was seventh (22.42.0).

Cass Tech placed four runners in the top 10. Junior Ziomarea Lewis was sixth (22.29.0). Senor Angel Alexander was eighth (23.18.9). Sophomore Malise Brown was ninth (24.31.7).

Renaissance was the PSL Blue Division regular season champion. Cody was the PSL Gold Division regular season champion.
