Phoenix boys earn PSL Title
Detroit Renaissance repeats as Public School League champion
Detroit Renaissance repeated as Detroit Public School League boys cross country champion on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Belle Isle in Detroit.
Renaissance won the title with a score of 22. Detroit Cass Technical was second at 56. Detroit Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men was third at 93. Detroit Henry Ford was fourth at 139. Detroit Mumford was fifth at 145.
Renaissance junior Lance Stone was medalist in a time of 17.30.4.
Renaissance placed six runners in the top eight.
Renaissance sophomore Marcel Lake was third (18.10.2). Sophomore Jordan Webley was fifth (18.59.2). Sophomore Chase Jackson was sixth (18.59.4). Senior Jordan Redd was seventh (19.03.5). Sophomore Jordan Sigmon was eigth (19.03.5).
Douglass placed two runners in the top four. Sophomore Joel Johnson was second (17.41.5). Senior Adrian Smith was fourth (18.47.2).
Renaissance was the PSL Blue Division regular season champion. Detroit Southeastern was the PSL Gold Division regular season champion.
