DPSCD Outdoor Adventure Clubs Hit the Slopes!

Students from Renaissance, Western, and Cass are bundling up for an unforgettable winter adventure as part of the DPSCD Outdoor Adventure Clubs’ Slopes Days Field Trip Series! This February, our young skiers and snowboarders are taking on Mt. Brighton, learning new skills, making memories, and embracing the thrill of winter sports

With guidance from certified instructors, students and teachers started small and made big progress during their first two sessions on February 4 and 11. Thanks to our incredible partners, Detroit Outdoors and SOS Outreach, they’ll be back on the slopes for one final session on February 25! SOS Outreach, a nationally recognized organization, provides mentorship and skill-building opportunities, ensuring that every participant gains confidence while having a blast.

Beyond just skiing and snowboarding, this experience is about equity, adventure, and community. With professional lessons, dedicated volunteers, and a shared love for the outdoors, DPSCD students are discovering just how fun winter can be!
