Project Manhood Mentorship, Guiding Young Men Toward Success
On December 5, 2024, Randolph Career Technical Center hosted the second gathering of Project Manhood—an inspiring initiative designed to mentor young men at the school. The event provided a unique opportunity for connection, learning, and growth as attendees engaged with mentors who shared powerful life experiences and lessons.
The assembly began with a casual yet welcoming atmosphere. Over slices of pizza, the young men bonded with their peers, sharing laughter and conversation that set the stage for a memorable afternoon. However, as the program unfolded, the tone shifted to focus on deeper, more impactful topics.
One by one, the presenters stepped forward to share their stories—each one a testament to resilience, transformation, and hope. Representing diverse backgrounds, some speakers shared experiences of overcoming challenges such as incarceration, while others recounted their paths to becoming successful entrepreneurs in their respective fields. Their journeys underscored the realities of being a young man today, especially for Black and brown youth navigating societal and personal obstacles.
The central message resonated deeply: every young man in the room was valued and supported. The speakers emphasized that mentorship and guidance are readily available from the men who had gathered that evening. Their heartfelt words encouraged the students to seek help when needed and to remember they are not alone in their journeys.
The Project Manhood event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and mentorship in shaping the futures of young men. By fostering connections and offering guidance, this program continues to leave a lasting impact on the students of Randolph Career Technical Center.
