                  Central High School offers Cross Country.

                  Central High School offers a Track and Field program for boys and girls.

                • Cheerleading

                   Central High School has a Cheer Team.  All participants must have a 2.0 grade point average to tryout.  Students are required to maintain 2.5 grade point average to remain on the team.  For more information, contact Coach CheJuana Stewart via MS Teams or via email chejuana.stewart@detroitk12.org if you are interested.  Please note that Central High School Cheer team is welcoming to all genders.

                • JV & Varsity Football

                  JV & Varsity Football

                  Students must have a 2.0 GPA or above to try out for the team. For more information about the football program, contact Coach Jimmy Macon by email at jwmac44aol.com.  

                • Girl's Softball

                  Central High School offers Girl's Softball.

                • Boy's & Girl's Swimming

                  Swimming is for students  to learn, as it can improve their overall physical and mental well-being. 

                  The activity is taught by Coach Kimulisa Gray.  If you have any questions regarding the program, feel free to contact Ms. Gray at kimulisa.gray@detroitk12.org or call 313.252.3000.

                • Girl's Volleyball

                  Volleyball is a sport for students to use their hands to hit a ball back and forth over a net, trying to make the ball touch the floor within the team's playing area before the ball can be returned.  A sport for teamwork and communication. The team is coached by Ms. RaMona Ross.  If you have any questions, contact Ms. Ross via email at ramona.ross@detroitk12.org.

                Enrichment Programs

                • After School Tutoring

                  Central High School offers after-school tutoring on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  Students can attend in person from 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm.  The school offers a virtual session from 5:00 pm -6:00 pm via MS Teams.  Please contact the school at 313.252.3000 for more information.

                • Green Club

                  The focus of this club is learning about the environment and our role within it.  The group plans on 

                  • learning about the environment and climate change
                  • taking field trips to local gardens and natural areas
                  • creating school-wide initiatives, such as a community garden
                  • celebrating Earth Day and creating a recycling program.

                  The club meets on Thursday from 3:20 pm - 4:30 pm in Ms. Johnson's class room 316.  If interested, sign up outside Ms. Johnson's door. 

                STEM Programs

                • Robotics Team

                  Students have the opportunity to join a Robotics Team.

                • Business Professional of America

                  Central High School offers a technology program where students can learn how to do computer Java & Python programming, web design, device configuration and SQL Database fundamentals.
