Good evening, MLK family I wanted to make sure that you received this communication on the events that occurred this evening at the prom sendoff. If students or parents have questions, please use the following talk path:

This is a notice that as the prom send off was concluding, a vehicle entered the parking area near the performance arts center and individuals exited abruptly. These subjects proceeded to fire shots in the air. They recentered the vehicle and fled the scene. No one was injured during this unfortunate incident. Police, monitoring the prom send off quickly responded and currently investigating. Out of an abundance of caution, additional security will be onsite for arrival and dismissal.

Please do not deviate, from this response. When this event occurred a majority of our students had left the unapproved "Send Off", and by the grace of God no one was hurt.
