Posted by Principal Perry on 4/27/2025
Greetings MLK Family! Spring has finally Sprung and here are your Sunday Notes!
Senior Updates- The Class of 2025 school year is quickly coming to an end! Please remind Senior about these very important dates
Senior Final Exams- May 12th,13th, 14th with Make Up Exams given on May 15th. Senior Last Day in the building is Friday, May 16th.
Senior Townhall- On Tuesday April 29th during 2nd hour we will be hosting a Senior Town Hall. During this session we will be discussing Edgenuity deadlines (May 5th), final grading, and other important Senior information.
It's Getting Hot In Here- As the weather warms up please have conversation with your student regarding MLK Dress Code Expectations this includes and is not limited to crop tops, skirts length that is higher than the top of the knee cap, grey sweatpants, flip flops, shorts, visible undergarments in pants, skirts, and shirts. We are attempting to prepare our students for the jobs and careers of tomorrow, TODAY. Join us in keeping expectations at MLK HIGH!
MLK Hallsweeps- Last weeks round of hall sweeps spoke volumes to help us maintain an orderly and conducive environment. This week we will once again be implementing them and continuing throughout the school year randomly.
Please remind your student that the goal of hall sweeps is to minimize tardiness, reduce disruptions, and increase instructional time for all students. By encouraging promptness and accountability, we aim to build habits that will serve students well in and beyond the classroom.
Have conversations with your child about the importance of being on time and prepared for class. Encourage them to use their passing time wisely and to always carry a hall pass when outside of class during instructional time.
We appreciate your support and partnership in helping our students grow academically and socially.
MLK Shout Outs- I would like to personally thank every member of Take the Lead Drama Club who participated in last weeks "Confession" production. Every student who participated on and off stage absolutely shined! This was further enhanced by members of the band, choir, and MLK Staff who also assisted in making this production happen! Special shout out to Dr. Wolford and Ms. Smith for their dedication and work! MLK shined brighter because of what every team member did to make this production happen!
Have an amazing Sunday!
