Passing the Positivity: A Lesson in Sportsmanship

This week’s House Friday brought students together not just for fun and games, but for an important conversation about sportsmanship.

Each house began the day by discussing why sportsmanship matters—on the court, in the classroom, and in life. Students worked as a team to create colorful posters highlighting the values of respect, encouragement, and fair play.

Then it was time to head down to the gymnasium for a game we’re calling “Pass the Positive”—a fast-paced relay race where students passed a ball down the line in a test of teamwork and communication. But more important than who won was how the game was played. Students showed kindness, encouraged one another, and even shook hands afterward in a strong display of what sportsmanship is all about.

By the end of the event, it was clear: these students are not just competitors—they’re teammates, leaders, and role models.
