Now Accepting Exam High School Applications! DPSCD provides aid to complete Examination High Schools Application process
DPSCD EXPANDS ASSISTANCE SO STUDENTS CAN PREPARE FOR EXAMINATION HIGH SCHOOLS TEST
DPSCD is expanding tutoring and academic support for 8th graders who will be taking the examination used for admission to the District’s six Examination High Schools. Unlimited online evening tutoring and test preparation will be available Monday-Thursday, starting on October 26, 2020 through November 20 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Students will be able to select from sessions aligned to the subtests:
- Mathematics and Quantitative Skills
- Verbal Test and Language Test
- Reading Comprehension Test
Certified DPSCD teachers will deliver tutoring and test preparation. Be sure to take advantage of this free resource for DPSCD students. Go to https://www.detroitk12.org/testinghelp to sign up as well as get more information.
Additionally, the District is providing multiple ways for you to connect during the application period for our Examination High Schools as well as to help your scholar prepare. They include:

In-Person Application Assistance
In addition, applicants interested in receiving in-person assistance with the Examination High School application can schedule a one-on-one appointment starting on Monday, October 26 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Cass Tech. Appointments are available to families in 30-minute blocks and will include access to a computer as well as printer and scanners. To ensure a safe environment, families are requested to limit the number of guests to two individuals per appointment. Social distancing and the usage of PPE such as face masks will be strictly enforced.

All 8th grade students are encouraged to apply (district and non-district students). A reminder, the application window opened on Monday, October 12 at 12 p.m. and closes on Sunday, November 15 at 11:59 p.m. No exceptions.
