LIVING THE PRIORITIES: PARENT-STUDENT BRUNCHES TRANSFORM SCHOOL CULTURE

Part of the each DPSCD school’s mission is to provide a Transformative Culture in their schools so that students, families and community members feel safe, respected and connected.

This semester Greenfield Union exhibited the Blueprint 2020 priority of Transformative Culture.

In May and June, the school hosted muffins with mom and donuts with dad to promote parent-student bonding. The brunches created a safe and comfortable community environment that promoted strong bonds between students and parents. Students and families selected Summer Reading Materials to build the home libraries.  The selected readings will help build bonds between children and their parents and help grow the love of reading in our community.

Nearly 35 families attended each brunch and engaged in goal setting; created vision boards and enjoyed in reading books with their parent and school staff.
