DPSCD Employees, Students, and Families:
Please be advised that effective today, July 1, 2022, masking in district schools and central office buildings and during district functions and activities is now optional for all employees, students, contractors, and visitors. However, if for any reason you would like to wear a mask, then you have the freedom and support to do so. The District will not require masking in the future unless it is required by the federal, state, and/or city health department. The District will continue to provide masks at schools and central office locations for employees, students, and visitors if they wish to wear one. - Supt. Vitti.
Summer on the Block Kicks Off This Week: Families join our Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team for the first Summer on Block Thursday, July 7, 2022. There are two locations and times to fit your schedule: Pasteur Elementary School, 19811 Stoepel St., Detroit, 48221, 12 p.m.-2 p.m. or Noble Elementary-Middle School, 8646 Fullerton Street, 1 p.m.-3 p.m., Detroit, 48238. There will be free food, giveaways, fun activities for the children as well as resources and enrollment support for families. See you on the Block this week!

- Monday, July 11, 2022- marks the start of Summer Learning Experiences and Kindergarten Bootcamp. Watch for important notices to be delivered to you and your student’s email regarding school assignments, transportation, and schedule details.

- First Day of School (Note early start date) – Monday, Aug. 29, 2022
School Open Houses and Enrollment Support in July and August: Several DPSCD schools will be holding open houses this summer while the District’s Office of Enrollment will also provide enrollment support sessions. We can’t wait to see your student continue to rise in a DPSCD school this fall.
Do your part to help students rise! Attend DPSCD’s Hiring Fair July 14, 2022: DPSCD is seeking highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our teams. Plan to be at Western International High School, 1500 Scotten Ave., Detroit, 48209, between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on July 14, 2022. We are looking for teacher content positions as well as support staff positions. Please register here. Registration closes on July 13, 2022.
