DPSCD Families, students are gaining valuable experience by participating in Five Things You Need to Know weekly news. Students deliver a weekly video version to supplement our weekly copy. ICYMI-DPSCD Students are Making History! Let’s start with Mumford High School wrestler Ja’Marcus Smith, who is DPSCD’s first ever state champion in wrestling! Watch this media interview following his championship victory! Meanwhile, congratulations to Emerson Jeffries, Cass Tech, Brooke Snow, Detroit School of Arts and Perriel Pace of Legacy Academy. They are the newly elected student representatives working with the Board of Education. We are here to support your work, thank you for your leadership.
Remember to Return Your Loaner Device or Hot Spot: Students and families, please turn in your loaner technology items to your school. The Loaner Program is for online learning days only. Each student that checks out a laptop from their school is expected to return it to the school on the next in-person learning day. Thank you for making this a priority.
Enrollment Season is here for the 2022-23 School Year: Fall 2022 is getting closer and we are ready to love, challenge and prepare your child for their rise with a DPSCD education. Share with your friends and neighbors how DPSCD is helping your student and share the ongoing enrollment activities such as Guide to Enrolling, Welcome Wednesday webinars and the Level Up Expo April 9, 2022, at Cass Tech for incoming freshmen to get a taste of more than 20 high schools to be represented. Applications are now open for application and exam schools, please note deadlines and information to help you make the best choice for your child. Facility Master Plan (FMP) Engagement Sessions: The Detroit community is invited to join us in-person to review and provide input on the Facilities Master Plan meeting Monday, March 14, 2022, at Pershing High School 18875 Ryan Rd. from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Also, save the date for the next community engagement session for the Pershing, Osborn and Denby Communities on Monday, March 21, 2022.
