Renaissance High's Taylor Sims to Sing at Detroit Jazz Fest

In partnership with the Detroit Jazz Festival Foundation, Renaissance High School Junior, Taylor Sims wowed an intimate crowd last Thursday (8-4-22) at the Dirty Dog Jazz Café as she competed in the 2022 Detroit Jazz Festival Youth Vocal Jazz Competition for high school jazz vocalists. She won $1,000, a spot on the grand stage at the Labor Day weekend Detroit Jazz Festival and professional coaching throughout the Jazz Festival.

Taylor Sims will perform with the Wayne State University Big Band on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Carhartt Amphitheatre Stage in Hart Plaza. Let’s be sure to come out and support our DPSCD Legend Rising. Congratulations Taylor Sims!
