2022 DPSCD SEE Conference Designed By Student Leaders
Another year. Another successful DPSCD Student Empower Experience (SEE) conference!
Hosted by the District’s Executive Youth Council and with an estimated 400 young leaders from DPSCD high schools on-hand, the 2022 SEE conference delivered again on its blueprint of providing a platform for inspiring burgeoning young leaders. How so? By giving them access to a variety of courses in a fun and uplifting environment.
Arkeisha Antoinette Knight, a Detroit native, who you know her better as Kash Doll, inspired the student leaders with a discussion on career choices. She further wowed the group with a performance. Not to be outdone, DJ100 also came back to the D. The Detroit native and Renaissance High School alumnus spun music while sporting his Detroit Tigers baseball cap and Detroit gear.
In addition to the fun, the 2022 conference also provided a platform for the youth to engage in issues and endeavors they care about as well as get information on scholarship opportunities. Similar to the first SEE conference in 2021, this year’s participants came away with an understanding of their unique power to make change and a sense of connection to other students within DPSCD, a welcome change given that most of the students have endured the rollercoaster of online and in-person learning due to the pandemic.
Whether through athletics, the arts, clubs, or empowerment in social issues, DPSCD’s free public education is tailored to the development of the Whole Child, an approach that unlocks our students’ full potential.
And as the 2022 edition of the SEE Conference demonstrated, when Student’s Rise, We All Rise!
