Last week, Mr. Akbar PILLARS of Manhood mentoring program visited the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

For many of the boys it was their first time going! From the powerful exhibits of the Middle Passage to the resilience of the Civil Rights Movement, and the brilliance of Black innovators, leaders, and artists, the museum offered more than history. It offered the student's connection, pride, and perspective.

We have a responsibility to the next generation, not just to guide them, but to expose them to their heritage, so they can see where they come from and envision where they’re going. The look in their eyes said it all: curiosity sparked, confidence built, and purpose ignited. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the museum’s founding! It is a true beacon of knowledge, identity, and pride for generations to come.
