COBO Center in Detroit was the perfect venue for the 2019 North American International Auto Show Education Day supported by the PNC Foundation. This event served as an innovative learning atmosphere for Detroit Public Schools Community District pre-kindergarten students and teachers.
On January 24, 2019, students were provided with robust hands-on learning experiences that explored the innovation of the automotive industry in the context of science, technology, reading, engineering, the arts, and math (S.T.R.E.A.M) education. Students, teachers, and chaperones maneuvered across the showroom floor as they focused on shapes, colors, movement, and building to support student's critical thinking. In addition, students became engineers and artists as they constructed individual cars with Legos.
We, at Detroit Public Schools Community District, applaud the PNC Grow Up Great Program for their continued efforts to enhance early childhood education and stimulate young children learning and achieving in exciting new ways.
