Students Visit The Belle Isle Water Tower

Recently, the 5th graders at Emerson went on a field trip to the Detroit River Water Festival. What a perfect day! It was raining when we arrived. The organization supplied us with ponchos. Children learned about animals who are invasive and those who are native to the environment. They learned about an animal named mud puppies, from staff from the Detroit Zoo. The festival assisted them in learning more about the world that they live in.

As we were leaving Belle Isle, the clouds had moved and the sun was shining, making the river water appear to be sparkling. Many children said, "That's beautiful." Many had never visited Belle Isle before.
