DPSCD Unified Sports Hosts Flag Football Clinics

This fall, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) Unified Sports is bringing students together on the field for an exciting Flag Football Clinic, in partnership with Area 26 Special Olympics. The clinic will focus on football skills and drills while promoting teamwork, inclusion, and increased female participation in the sport.
The action kicks off on October 21 at Mumford High School, where 4th–8th grade students will spend the day learning and practicing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
High school and post-secondary athletes will take their turn on October 23 at East English Village, also from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with lunch provided.
The series will wrap up on October 28 with a spirited tournament. The location will be announced soon, but athletes can look forward to testing their skills in a fun, competitive environment.
Teachers are encouraged to bring both male and female athletes, as well as partners, to foster the spirit of inclusion that lies at the heart of Unified Sports.
Students, parents, and staff can sign up through the online registration form, and those with questions may reach out to Sydney Hebel (sydney.hebel@detroitk12.org) or Michelle Osborne (michelle.osborne@detroitk12.org).
With a focus on inclusion, teamwork, and skill-building, this Flag Football Clinic is sure to be an unforgettable experience for Detroit athletes of all ages.
