DPSCD School Spotlight of the Week: Detroit International Academy for Young Women (DIA), is the only all girl's public education institution in the State of Michigan. Dedicated to unlocking the unique potential of every student, the academy empowers young women to develop their strengths, pursue their passions, and step into leadership roles within their communities and beyond. DIA offers opportunities, including exposure to Biomedical Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine pathways, ensuring students are prepared for modern career challenges. DPSCD Student Spotlight of the Week: Congratulations to Cass Technical High School Girls Varity Swim Team on their 7th consecutive Detroit Public School League (DPSL) Championship. Cass Tach managed to take first place in all 3 relays. Congratulations to the following student athletes in each relay:
- Stori Thomas, Brynn Monteiro, Natasha Shell, and Aniah Thomas - 200 Yard Medley
- Brynn Monteiro, Victoria Espinosa, Simone Peacock, and Aniah Thomas - 200 Yard Freestyle
- Simone Peacock, Stori Thomas, Keleah Harris, and Victoria Espinosa - 400 Yard Freestyle

Family Resource and Distribution Center (FRDC): The FRDC has available resources to assist DPSCD families. Resources include hygiene products, dry goods, water, school supplies, backpacks, children’s books, and at times coats are available. Stop by one of the District’s ten Health Hub sites near you. Middle of the Year District Assessment Window Opens Monday: DPSCD Families, the Middle Of Year (MOY) assessment window opens on Tuesday, December 03, 2024. Based on grade, your student will take benchmark assessments in Math, Reading, Science, and/or Social Studies. These assessments help teachers better understand your student’s academic progress. For more information, please contact your school.
