Dixon's Math Bee: Celebrating Academic Excellence

Dixon Elementary recently buzzed with excitement as students showcased their mathematical prowess in the highly anticipated Dixon's Math Bee. This annual event not only ignites a passion for numbers but also fosters a spirit of healthy competition among the young minds.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as students from different grades put their arithmetic skills to the test. Under the watchful eyes of their teachers and peers, participants delved into a series of challenging mathematical problems, demonstrating not only their knowledge but also their ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.

In the first-grade category, Dr. Felder's class witnessed Patricia Vanpelt-Hunter emerging as the champion, securing the prestigious first place. Right on her heels was Cory Booker, claiming the second-place spot. Meanwhile, Martin's class saw Marquis Jenkins clinching the top position, with Walter Ware closely following in second place.

Moving on to the second-grade category, Collins' class celebrated Joshua Johnson's victory as he claimed the first-place title, closely trailed by A’Nyla Price in second place. In Smith's class, Melodee Silas triumphed as the first-place winner, with Kaiyesa Pittman securing the second-place position.

Amongst the fervor and excitement of the competition, special recognition was given to A’Nyla Price and Walter Ware, who emerged as the overall winners from Dixon's Lower Elementary. Their exceptional performance earned them the opportunity to represent Dixon Elementary at the upcoming District Bee.

Dixon's Math Bee not only celebrates academic excellence but also fosters a sense of camaraderie and determination among students. It serves as a platform for young mathematicians to showcase their skills and encourages them to strive for greatness in the field of mathematics.
