Detroit Lions Academy's "Spooked Family Night" had an amazing turn out. Students, families, staff and community partners came together for this exciting event. Doors opened for trick-or-treaters at 4:00 p.m. and the festivities didn't end until 6:00 p.m. There were spiderwebs, witches, bubbling cauldrons, and a spooky surprise around every corner. The children looked so cute in their costumes as they went from class to class to be greeted by staff dressed in costume, handing out candy. They walked through the halls socializing, laughing and taking pictures. It isn't everyday that you can see a teacher dressed as Cinderella, a Ninja Turtle, or a skeleton. Guests enjoyed pizza, chicken and endless snacks. Guests could paint, play a game of skill or luck, or sit back and enjoy a spooky movie. At the end of the evening all of the characters, ghouls and goblins went home with full bellies, prizes and bags of candy.
Thank you to all of the families that came out to celebrate with us. Without the support of Principal King and our wonderful staff this event would not have been possible. We want to thank the Detroit Lions Organization and Meijer for their generosity and faithful support.
