The Davison Elementary-Middle School Student Council was formed during the 2016-2017 school as an introduction to student government. Members are students in grades 5-8 who serve as ambassadors of the school as well as representatives of the student body within the building. Council meetings are student-led, employing the basic rules of parliamentary procedure. Students develop leadership skills by taking responsibility for the planning and implementation of fundraisers, service learning projects, and other activities. As they work together to make decisions, council members learn to present coherent proposals, to negotiate, and problem-solve.
