Fifth and Sixth Grade members of the Cooke STEM Academy Robotics Club participated in the First Lego League’s (FLL’s) Qualifying Coopertition this month. The FLL defines Coopertition as "displaying unqualified kindness and respect in the face of fierce competition. Coopertition is founded on the concept and a philosophy that teams can and should help and cooperate with each other even as they compete.
Coopertition involves learning from teammates. It is teaching teammates. It is learning from Mentors. And it is managing and being managed. Coopertition means competing always, but assisting and enabling others when you can.”
Teams from all over the Metro Detroit area created presentations solving problems that astronauts face in space, posters presenting information on what they learned using FLL’s Core values and built a robot to accomplish missions as part of the event. All of us at Cooke are proud of the effort of our Scholars and we look forward to our FLL, Jr. Scholars’ Spring Coopertition!
