Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)

We are excited to start a new school year utilizing our school-wide behavior program called Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).  Maintaining a positive school climate at Charles H. Wright is a priority and one of our top goals!

What is PBIS?  Simply put, it is a proactive approach to school discipline.  It reinforces the appropriate and positive behaviors students are displaying.  It also teaches behavior expectations and provides support to help students successfully meet the expectations.

Our school-wide expectations are:

Be Respectful

Be Responsible

Be Safe

The Detroit Public Schools Community District has just released our 2018-2019 New Code of Conduct and the School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), students at Charles H. Wright  will use the CHAMPS acronym to help maintain a positive classroom environment for the growth and development for all students.
