Special Olympics

Many Students at Drew have the opportunity to participate in Special Olympic activities such as bowling, swimming, track & field, basketball along with a few winter sports. Abilities and perceptions are learned and developed through individuals experiences in daily activities. Participating in team sports emphasizes qualities such as achievement, unity and often encourages the development of self-efficacy, goal setting, and social skills. One potential way to empower individuals with cognitive disabilities is through sports and physical fitness activities. Students at Drew may have the opportunity to participate in Special Olympic activities of bowling, swimming, track & field, basketball along with a few winter sports.
